Our Story
Wherever you are, and whatever you do, be in love. -Rumi
When I became a part of the tarot community on Instagram I was looking for a place to share my love for tarot, but more than that I was searching for my people. The search for like minded souls led me here and I am so grateful.
I grew up in the very town I still live in today, Bakersfield, California. As I grew up I was surrounded by creatives. My Mom, Grandma and Aunts were always sewing, painting and creating. I began sewing at a very early age, probably around three years old. I spent time with family at oil painting classes, ceramic shops and many times at home learning a new craft. My sisters and I often spent school vacations at home learning to sew, crochet, knit and more. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I would grow to appreciate the skills that I had always taken for granted.
Years later as I delved into the Instagram world of tarot I found so many amazing people who had so much to offer. I took classes and joined groups online. During a tarot online course, I noticed a reoccurring issue, tarot deck storage. We are all spending so much time and money on these amazing decks, but the boxes don't hold up and they just aren't practical. So most of us look for bags, but many bags aren't very protective or just don't have much functionality. Then there’s the issue of not knowing what deck is being stored in which bag. My mind started creating quicker than my hands could and Moonlit Faye was born. Solutions to everyday deck storage issues became my main focus. The first bags released were simple designs and now over three years later, I offer several different bag designs, many focusing on deck-bag cohesion: Bags that create a visual link between the fabric and the deck.
Another dream of mine became a reality, collaborating with deck creators to make bags that perfectly match their decks. Deck creators and I work together to create fabric using their artwork, often from the deck, creating beautiful coordinating bags. I have been honored to work with deck creators and artists such as Jamie Sawyer, Esther Theia, Benebell Wen, Zaara from Kittenchops Illustration and many more.
Moonlit Faye is always growing and changing, but will always keep our focus on the amazing community that has given us so much love and support. I love and appreciate each of you. I am so very grateful.
